Alex Tremblay is a New York City-based bassist, composer, and educator who has been active on the music scene since 2013. Originally from North Providence, Rhode Island, he studied at the Jackie McLean Institute of Jazz and earned a Bachelor of Music degree. Influenced by jazz legends like Ray Brown, Ron Carter, and funk icons like James Jamerson and Jaco Pastorius, Alex developed a distinct musical style that blends multiple genres.
His debut album, Thoughts and Images (2022), showcases top NYC jazz talent and emphasizes melody, beauty, and simplicity over complexity. He has composed and arranged music for ensembles, film, theatre, and dance, and regularly performs at renowned venues globally. As an educator, he offers private lessons and masterclasses across the U.S. and internationally.
