Never underestimate the potential for KC material to unseat those playing it. Red wobbles slightly, and The ConstruKction Of Light has a by-the-seat-of-their-pants feel tonight. Even the monumental Level Five has a momentary shudder in the foundations, but it is arguably the best performance of this entire tour! Elsewhere, it’s astonishing that after so many decades, 21st Century Schizoid Man should continue to register so strongly. Familiarity has something to do with it, of course. This is without doubt *the* best-known track in the KC canon. But it can’t just be that, can it? What the piece has perhaps is a universality that is applicable to whichever era it was performed. A song for the times - whenever those times happen to be.
